 The Thompson Trawler by Thompson Industries of Titusville, Florida took an original approach in the fishing industry.
They were designed to be utilized for a variety of different types of fishing without having to return to port for re-rigging.
These work horses were 60 feet long, 21 feet wide, and powered by a 365 HP Caterpillar diesel.
The hold was large enough to carry between 40,000 and 50,000 pounds of iced fish, and she carried enough fuel and water for 30 day fishing trips. Just like the real thing, the Dumas kit of the
Thompson Trawler offers the highest level of prefabrication of any of the Dumas scale kits.
This allows you more time to work on all the little details that really breathe life into your model.
To help you accomplish this, we offer two hardware packages.
Running hardware kit #2350 contains all the parts necessary to install a complete single screw drive line, including the gear transmission, and a 3 in. bronze propeller.
Deck hardware #2106 contains the parts to construct the outriggers, mast, and winch.
Short of growing your own barnacles you ca not make this boat any saltier.
